ESL One Rio Major Qualifiers to be played on latest CS:GO patch
ESL has announced that the open qualifiers for the ESL One Rio Major will be played on the most recent version of the game.
Wednesday’s update introduced structural changes to three maps in the Active Duty map pool, with Mirage being the one that was impacted the most. A bench has been placed in mid to allow players to self-boost into window and to peek catwalk, the T-side entrance into mid has been widened and a wallbang spot from palace to the scaffolding corner has been added.
Dust2 and Train were also tweaked in this update, with skyboxes being opened from the B halls towards the site on the former map, and near ivy on the latter.
The qualifying process for the ESL One Rio Major will begin on Friday in both Europe and North America, two regions that will have four open brackets. In the remaining regions, the race for a Major spot will start in the following days.

The qualifiers, which start tomorrow, will feature some of the biggest teams in CS:GO that didn’t earn direct qualification to the Minors or Major. The newly-formed Dignitas squad, for example, will have to use the open qualifiers to earn a spot in the closed qualifiers and then the European Minor.
