SOUTH.GG MOONLIGHT CLASH: MECHANICS OF THE TOURNAMENT
2. Players’ & Teams’ Responsibilities
General Information
1.1 Moonlight Clash (Community Match) is an event hosted by South.gg, an organization that gives your daily source of esports news, analysis, meme reviews, and predictions. Our priority is to introduce esports locally in the Philippines and globally.
1.2 Match Format
1.2.1 Group Stage
Group stages will be played from November 15, 2020, to November 22, 2020, in BO1 single-elimination format. Eight teams will play in one group per day. The daily winner will automatically be seeded to the playoffs round.
1.2.2 Playoffs
Playoffs will be played from November 23, 2020, to November 29, 2020. Eight teams will clash in a double-elimination bracket.
1.3 All participants should follow the rules set by the tournament organizers.
Players’ & Teams’ responsibilities
2.1 Players must obey the Dota 2 User Agreement and Moonlight Clash Tournament Rules.
2.2 All players should set their IGN ahead before the tournament. Teams and tags should also be set up ahead in the Dota client before the scheduled date of the tournament. Teams may inquire to the tournament organizers regarding this.
2.3 The players/team representatives must not broadcast or watch any live matches if their team still has an ongoing match.
2.4 All registered players must use steam accounts that are fully verified under the Valve website.
2.5 All registered players/teams/managers must be present in the South.gg community servers, as invited by the South.gg admins.
2.6 Conflicts should be resolved by email/teleconferencing. Players and managers are strictly prohibited to use any information acquired from the conference/email, without permission.
Controversial Matches
3.1 Scheduling and moderating for every single match is done by an admin. The admins will make decisions according to the tournament rules and inform teams. In extraordinary situations, the admins will be the one to make the final decision.
3.2 From teams’ sides, only a captain or manager can communicate about any issues or controversial situations.
3.3. If there is no information from captains or managers about controversial situations within 15 minutes of the match’s end, the result is considered to be confirmed. Only the team’s captain has a right to submit a protest. The captain should provide all the information needed in 15 minutes after the match is finished, otherwise, the result is considered to be confirmed and out of the discussion.
3.4 Decisions about controversial situations can only be made by an admin.
3.5 Admin`s decisions are ultimate and final.
3.6 If two teams played a match, it cannot be replaced under any circumstances.
3.7 If a match must be restarted because of technical issues (server crash etc):
Before horn – remake All Pick mode, same players on same heroes
After horn – full Captain’s Mode remake
3.8 Tournament organizers may adjust the rules during the tournament. Participants will be informed accordingly about the changes.
Disciplinary Measures
4.1 All Competitors must be present 10 minutes before their scheduled match. If the team is not complete within 10 minutes, the team will automatically be disqualified (during the group stage); in a BO3 they will lose game 1.
4.3 If punishment is not described, the main admin may use any sanctions or fines, depending on the situation and these Tournament Rules.
4.4 Sabotaging the match, unauthorized quit.
-Default loss.
4.5 Insulting and provoking opponents in the lobby or a game
— From a penalty to disqualification.
4.6 Unsportsmanlike conduct
— From a penalty to disqualification.
4.7 Insulting administration
— Default loss and disqualification.
4.8 Using side programs affecting the game process
— Default loss and disqualification.
Matchmaking & Organizing
5.1 All lobbies will be created by an admin 15 minutes before the match except if players are asked to create their own lobby.
5.2 Spectators, managers, and reserve players are not allowed to be in the lobby. Only the team roster, marshalls, and official casters are allowed to be in the game lobby.
5.3 Pauses are not allowed except for technical issues. The team that pauses the game has to call an admin immediately and explain the reason for the pause.
5.4 Total game duration – the game lasts until the winner is known. The winner is the team that destroys the opponent’s Ancient or forces them to surrender.
5.5 All games must be played with a coin toss, Best of 3 or Best of 5.
Miscellaneous
6.1 The Participants shall procure that they strictly comply with the tournament rules, as well as with any other requirements, instructions, and regulations concerning the tournament and provided to the participants by the organizers in writing, orally, electronically, or in any other form.
6.2 The Participants acknowledge and agree that the Organizers may amend the tournament rules at any time. The amendments shall bind the separate Participant from the moment of such changes. Execution of a supplementary agreement to Moonlight Clash participation agreement in connection with the amendment of the tournament rules is not required.
6.3 Notwithstanding the above, in cases of violation of the tournament rules by the participants (legal entities/organizations/teams/natural persons), the organizers by preliminary mutual agreement are entitled to apply sanctions against such participants, which are specified in tournament rules, or, if not specified, determined by the organizers on a case-by-case basis given the nature and severity of the violation. The sanctions may include, but are not limited to, warning, default loss, deduction from the Award and/or other payments (if such existing), forfeit of the Award and/or other payments (if such existing), disqualification from the tournament.
6.4 In extraordinary situations, the organizers by preliminary mutual agreement may make decisions that go against the Tournament Rules. In situations not covered by the tournament rules, the organizers shall make decisions at their own discretion.
Location, schedule
7.1 Lobby, Password, and other details will be transmitted by the match admin. If possible when teams created their own lobbies they must only relay the password to the opposing team’s captain/manager.
7.2 Lobby settings:

7.3 Since this is an online tournament, everybody is required to stay at home. If you have your own pc / if you are on boot camp, you are only required to play at that certain address registered for your boot camp.
