ANIMAJOR DAY 1 RESULTS (SOUTHSIDE TAMBAYAN COVERAGE)

Today marks the first day of the WePlay Kyiv Animajor! The Wild Card  round kicks off the first day of the major, and here is a run down of the games that were streamed at Southside Tambayan (in case you missed it).

SECRET VS. AS MONACO GAMBIT (1-1)

Zai perfectly spun the Brood Mother’s webs to lead Team Secret to secure a game 1 win against AS Monaco Gambit, stomping them 32-9 overwhelmingly in favor of Team Secret.

However, a game 2 bounce back led by Lorenof’s fluid play on Morphling forced a draw in the series, starving Matumbaman’s Medusa by constantly invading Secret’s jungle and eventually out-farming both Secret’s mid and safe lane carries.

INVITCUS GAMING VS. EXECRATION (1-1)

Invictus Gaming took home game 1 from a rather close game after they punished XCTN.Nikko’s incorrect Berserker’s Call timing, causing Execration to lose their footing and eventually allowing IG inside their base.

Game 2, however was Palos’ show, despite how late it started for him. Picking up Eye of Skadi and Monkey King Bar turned Palos’ Faceless Void from offline to online, leading into multiple kills on their way to siege IG’s base and eventually forcing the latter to call “GG”.

TEAM SECRET VS. VICI GAMING (1-1)

Team Secret managed to put an end to an hour-long game in their favor against Vici Gaming, despite the latter’s aggressive early game skirmishes, proving that some games can be won in the draft stage, no matter how long it takes.

Not wanting another long game, Vici Gaming reprised their Faceless Void-centric strategy and stuck it to Team Secret’s faces, ending the series in a tie, refusing to back down and hand a 2-0 record to Team Secret.

TEAM NIGMA VS. INVICTUS GAMING

Better draft wins the game as Invictus Gaming stop Team Nigma 51-28 after perfectly pulling off the timing for Flyfly’s Faceless Void, securing them 1 win in their series, and then again proving that point as they drive it home to Team Nigma, scoring 2-0 in this series.
