Boston Celtics team is retiring Kevin Garnett’s number in honor of his great career

The Boston Celtics announced that the NBA Champion in 2007-2008 season and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame finalist, Kevin Garnett, will retire his jersey number (5) in next season. He will be joining with other Celtics legends who also receive the team’s topmost honor. Kevin Garnett’s number will be elevated in the TD Garden rafters in next season campaign for Bolton Celtics.

When he was traded to Boston Celtics from Minnesota Timberwolves in 2007-2008 season. He made five All-Star games out of his six season in Celtics, And selected three All-Defensive First Team honors, one All-Defensive Second team honor, one All-NBA First Team honor,  He won as “Defensive Player of the Year” in 2008 and won also in “NBA Championship” at the same time. Kevin Garnett and the Boston Celtics defeated the Lakers 4-2 in the 2008 NBA Finals and got his first and only championship ring.

He played with Boston Celtics for 6 seasons, 396 games all in all, Kevin Garnett averaged 15.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.0 block per game while shooting 52 percent from the floor and 82.7 percent from the free throw line in 30.9 minutes per game.  The 6’11 power forward/center, one of the most dominant two-way player in NBA history, and he was the leader of the team who defeated Lebron James out of the playoffs in 2010,which made LeBron James decided to leave Cleveland Cavaliers to Miami heat.
