Experience over regrets; Extremist vows better drafts, mindset on next tourneys after AMD Summer League tilt
With flawless 2-0 standings on their upper bracket matches, Extremist had a solid run, until Yangon Galacticos rained on their parade.
The week-long main event of the AMD Summer League closed yesterday June 14, crowning team Yangon Galacticos as the grand champion. They swept Extremist in a bo5 series.
Team Extremist led a strong showcase of power in the first two days, by not dropping a single series in all of their matches, prompting a solid run on the upper bracket.
Extremist is the Luzon representative of the league.
However, Yangon Galacticos, a Myanmar based team had other plans, as on the upper bracket finals of the league, they flushed Extremist into the Lower Bracket, in a flawless 2-0 fashion.
Enraged by the humiliating loss, Extremist finished their match with Ground Zero perfectly without dropping a single game. They once again face Yangon Galacticos.
The grand finals stage was set. However, Yangon Galacticos’ strategies were far too advanced to grasp for a redemption-fueled Extremist.
In an interview with Julian Karl “JulsQ” Quilala, he expressed that team YG was far too strong, and YG’s experience set the bars higher for them.
Extremist offlaner JulsQ thought games 1 and 2 were destined for them “if only we got our timings, and rotations right,” he says when asked what went wrong.
JulsQ also expressed that if they will be given a chance to go head to head with YG in another time, they will be intensively focused, and get their drafts better
Extremist won P10,000 as the tournament’s 2nd runner up while Champion Yangon Galacticos takes P25,000 and 3rd placer Ground Zero takes home P5,000.
