fnatic sign Golden permanently
fnatic have confirmed that they have signed Maikil “Golden” Selim on a permanent basis from Cloud9.
The 25-year-old has committed his future to fnatic after helping the team to return to the top during a highly-successful loan at the end of 2019.
fnatic won DreamHack Masters Malmö, ending a 19-month long trophyless period, and finished in second place at StarSeries i-League Season 8 and at the ESL Pro League Season 10 Finals to end 2019 sitting third in the world rankings.
Golden has joined fnatic on a permanent basis
This will be Golden’s second stint as a full fnatic member after playing for the team between August 2017 and June 2018. The Swedish in-game leader, who had been promoted from the organisation’s academy squad, led the team to victories at IEM Katowice 2018 and at the WESG 2017 Finals before stepping down from the roster to make way for William “draken” Sundin.
fnatic, who will make their first appearance of 2020 at IEM Katowice, which will kick off on February 25, have the following roster:
Jesper “JW” Wecksell
Freddy “KRIMZ” Johansson
Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin
Robin “flusha” Rönnquist
Maikil “Golden” Selim
Andreas “Samuelsson” Samuelsson (coach)
After much deliberation, countless hours of internal meetings, four semifinal placements out of four, three grand finals, a trophy in Malmö, top four on all of your favourite ranking websites…
We came to one conclusion.
