Globe and AcadArena make it possible to study and play at the same time!

Whoever said games and studies can’t go together must be biting their tongue right now.

Globe Telecom has partnered with AcadArena, an up-and-coming esports organization in the Philippines that aims to provide an avenue for students to live their esports dreams while still taking care of their responsibilities as students.

The Globe-AcadArena Merit Esports Scholarship (GAMES) entails a scholarship that is separated into two categories 一 the competitive category and the leadership category. The partnership program also includes a Family Good Game grant that is awarded to model student gamers belonging to households in need.

What’s in it for me?

The GAMES programs are divided into two tiers, gold and silver. The gold tier provides 100% tuition coverage up to PHP30,000 or a PHP5,000 monthly stipend for the current or next active semester for state universities, while the silver tier covers 50% or up PHP15,000 tuition coverage or PHP3,000 monthly stipend for the current or next active semester for state universities.

The Family Good Game Grant is also divided into the gold and silver tiers, with the former providing one (1) awardee of a lump sum of PHP50,000, while the silver tier aids three (3) awardees a lump sum of PHP25,000 each.

It’s time we removed the stigma that games are distractions and that they lead you nowhere. It’s time for us to prove that games and esports are the future. #NotJustPlay
