ANIMAJOR DAY 3 PLAYOFF RESULTS

It's day 3 of the playoffs as we finish some Upper Bracket matches for the playoffs today. Here is a recap of the games we've covered over at Southside Tambayan!   TEAM SPIRIT VS. VICI GAMING (0-2) Team Spirit had a strong lead in the early game, but Old Eleven's successful Dooms on Team Spirit effectively makes every fight a guaranteed 4v5, helping VG take the lead and eventually force Team Spirit to call GG, which they should have called earlier in game 2 as VG once again sweep-kicks Team Spirit, causing the latter to lose the series 2-nil in favor of Vici Gaming.   TNC PREDATOR VS EVIL GENIUSES (1-2) Despite some "small talk" done during the early game...

ANIMAJOR DAY 2 PLAYOFFS RESULTS

After a thrilling and rather long first day, the second day of the WePlay! Kyiv Animajors has finally come. Let's take a look at the Lower Matches as covered by the gang over at Southside Tambayan.   TEAM ASTER VS. TNC PREDATOR (1-2) Team Aster charge forward and stomp TNC Predator 27-14 as they take game 1. Team Aster made sure to cancel out Bok's picks and shrink his available pool of heroes, making TNC's off-lane game a little on the weak side. TNC Predator showed their heart and proved they do not succumb to external pressures as they overwhelm Team Aster after converting Armel's Aegis steal to a full wipe of Team Aster and eventually rushing to the enemy's...

The Group Stage is over, and the playoff officially begins for the WePlay! Kyiv Animajors. Here is a recap of the games that we covered over at Southside Tambayan.   TEAM ASTER VS. T1 (0-2) T1 dominated game 1 by catching Team Aster by surprise with their Brood Mother pick, closing out the game early and stomping the Chinese team. They did the same in game 2, wiping the floor with Aster's remains as they stomp the latter 14-6.   PSG.LGD VS. ALLIANCE (2-0) PSG.LGD took game 1 by flipping the tables on to Alliance, holding out for the late game and diving into the Radiant team's base and closing out the game with a win in their favor. They...

ANIMAJOR DAY 6 RESULTS (SOUTHSIDE TAMBAYAN COVERAGE)

Day 6 of the WePlay Kyiv Animajor and the last day of the Group Stage. Southside Tambayan is covering the games for group A, and here is a recap of those matches!   PSG.LGD VS. VICI GAMING (1-1) In a match between both Chinese teams, PSG.LGD rose triumphant over Vici Gaming with their unorthodox-armor-reduction draft with a position 1 Doom, stomping Vici Gaming and Ame's Troll Warlord pick. However, Vici Gaming picked up their slack and rose to win game 2, ending the series in a 1-1 tie with PSG.LGD.   TNC PREDATOR VS. TEAM SPIRIT (1-1) TNC Predator wins game 1 after a thrilling back-and-forth match against Team Spirit with the leadership and quick-thinking of Armel to help lead...

ANIMAJOR DAY 5 RESULTS (SOUTHSIDE TAMBAYAN COVERAGE)

Another day has come, and it is finally day 5 of the WePlay Kyiv Animajor. Take a look at the recap of the games we covered over at Southside Tambayan, and don't forget to hang out with us as we stream games from Group A of the Group stage matches!   PSG.LGD VS. TNC PREDATOR (2-0) TNC Predator were completely wiped out by PSG.LGD with their hyper-sustain draft and objectives-prioritizing heroes, and TNC could just not do anything to bounce back after being pummeled to the ground like that. Game 2 was not a different story, as PSG.LGD were once against stomped 41-27 with PSG.LGD charging in with a Position 1 Axe.   PSG.LGD VS. EVIL GENIUSES (2-0) Right after...

ANIMAJOR DAY 4 RESULTS (SOUTHSIDE TAMBAYAN COVERAGE)

Another day has come and day 4 of the WePlay Kyiv Animajor is underway. Let's take a look at the recap of the games covered by the gang over at Southside Tambayan!   TEAM SPIRIT VS. VICI GAMING (1-1) Team Spirit's early game fervor lost against Vici Gaming's cold and calculated long game win condition, leading the latter to take game 1 of the series. However, Team Spirit pushed through in game 2, going against Vici Gaming's late game strategy by going aggressive on their draft, prioritizing objective-taking and rushing to the lanes to push and grab the Aegis of the Immortal every time it goes up.   TEAM NIGMA VS. TEAM LIQUID (2-0) Team Nigma takes game 1 with...

ANIMAJOR DAY 3 RESULTS (SOUTHSIDE TAMBAYAN COVERAGE)

It is day 3 and the start of the Group Stage of the WePlay Esports Kyiv Animajor! Here are some notes on the games covered by the gang at Southside Tambayan.   EVIL GENIUSES VS. TNC PREDATOR (2-0) TNC Predator failed to cull the blades of Abed's Templar Assassin, cancel out EG's early rotations on the map, and the snowball of the whole EG lineup leading for Evil Geniuses to easily wipe the floor with TNC's remains in an outstanding 29-8 game 1 in favor of EG. TNC Predator tried to push back Evil Geniuses from securing a 2-0, causing a close game between both teams. However, things are too EZ for Arteezy as they ended the game with 31-38...

ANIMAJOR DAY 2 RESULTS (SOUTHSIDE TAMBAYAN COVERAGE)

It is day 2 of the WePlay Kyiv Animajor and the last day of the Wild Card round. Let's walk through the games covered by the folks over at Southside Tambayan!   AS MONACO GAMBIT VS. VICI GAMING (0-2) Vici Gaming wiped the floor with AS Monaco Gambit as they close out the series with a spectacular 2-0 win. Ori and Poyoyo worked hand-in-hand to secure both games in their match against CIS team AS Monaco Gambit. AS Monaco Gambit have surely learned to ban Faceless Void from now on when facing against Vici Gaming, especially with Poyoyo.   EXECRATION VS. TEAM NIGMA (0-2) Team Nigma proved their prowess as they sweep Execration off their feet in a 2-0 upset...

Today marks the first day of the WePlay Kyiv Animajor! The Wild Card  round kicks off the first day of the major, and here is a run down of the games that were streamed at Southside Tambayan (in case you missed it).   SECRET VS. AS MONACO GAMBIT (1-1) Zai perfectly spun the Brood Mother's webs to lead Team Secret to secure a game 1 win against AS Monaco Gambit, stomping them 32-9 overwhelmingly in favor of Team Secret. However, a game 2 bounce back led by Lorenof's fluid play on Morphling forced a draw in the series, starving Matumbaman's Medusa by constantly invading Secret's jungle and eventually out-farming both Secret's mid and safe lane carries. INVITCUS GAMING VS. EXECRATION...

Chaos Combat Chess: Is it worth your time?

If you haven’t heard of the auto-battler genre, you must have been living in a rock for the past two years. It took over the gaming world in 2019, with MOBAs having their own versions of auto-battlers such as Dota 2’s Underlords, League of Legends’ Teamfight Tactics, and Mobile Legends’ Magic Chess. from left to right: Teamfight Tactics, Dota Underlords, and Magic Chess Bang Bang Originally popularized as a Dota 2 mod by Chinese developers Drodo Studio, the game’s premise was highly inspired by Mahjong and its tile-stacking and collecting mechanic. The auto-battler’s premise was simple: stack up your units, let them battle for you, and be the last player standing. Drodo Studio went on to develop their original game...
