The International 9 Main Event Day Standings!

The Main Stage day 1 kicks off with a lot of surprises and immense clash of talents from all of the match-ups today. Four teams ended up bidding their farewell to the Aegis of Champions. Fnatic on their unanimous loss on Team liquid, Keen Gaming in their early game advantage turned upset against Infamous, Na`Vi in their GG Push failure against Mineski and an upsetting draft error of Alliance compromising their victory against Royal Never Give UP. As Wykrhm Reddy said “anyone is gonna beat anyone” at The International 9, PSG.LGD gives a convincing victory against Virtus Pro and an acrobatic win of Vici Gaming against TNC Pro knocking both Virtus Pro and TNC Pro to the lower bracket.

OG vs Newbee

OG is one of the strongest team in the tournament. Thus, topping in their bracket and contribute terror to their opponent’s morale giving them low hope of proceeding forward in the competition. Now that OG.Ana is back on track with his carry IO twist, they’ve been absolutely crushing their competitor with ease. They’ve been aggressively aiming for their 2nd Aegis and would be full of passion in fulling it.

Newbee started off looking very weak in the TI9 Qualifiers as Forward Gaming. Over time, they improved and their performance in the group stage was astonishing. Scoring against the TI8 Grand Finalists PSG.LGD 1-1, TNC PRO 1-1, Alliance 1-1, Keen Gaming 1-1, Chaos Esports Club 2-0 and a unforeseen victory against the TI7 Champions Team Liquid. The big question is, can they maintain their threatening momentum?

Newbee has shown power in the early stage of The International but consistency might be a problem for them. OG on the other hand is known to perform really well in majority of their games. OG could certainly out stand Newbee in this match-up.

EG vs Team Secret

Team secret and EG are both teams that are greatly feared by most of the teams in the tournament. They’ve been acknowledge to be spectacular in every game-play and strategy that they pull off. Hence, being crowned as champions in different tournaments including the major and EG as the TI5 Champions.

Team Secret is a highly flexible team with a lot of talents which is considered to be a super team. Individual skill wise, team secret has a “tier 1 carry” according to BurNIng which is Secret Nisha and could certainly go hand in hand against EG.Arteezy. MidOne vs SumaiL though MidOne couldn’t certainly shut down SumaiL however he could manage to tighten midlle lane’s laning phase and put SumaiL in a bad shape. Both the zai and s4 are great offlaners, however the credit of this breakdown should go to zai as he is consistently great in the position 3 rule than s4 who is a former mid lane player. Supports have the biggest impact in the game. With YazOr and Puppey as the brain of Team Secret, they could run down Cr1t and Fly easily in terms of performance.

Both teams are strong enough to claim the Aegis of Champions. However Team Secret has a higher probability of achieving it than Evil Genius.

Team Liquid vs TNC Predator

TNC Predator came out strong at The International 2019. They once proved themselves as strong contenders at The International after their loss from Vici Gaming 2-1. Vici Gaming is more likely to win the entire tournament but they have manage to push them over the edge though they fell short. Once again they would be against The TI7 Champions, Team Liquid which they dominated during the group stage with a unanimous victory 2-0.

Team Liquid has been really good at the lower bracket. During their reign in TI7, it was a rough path that they moved all the way to the grand finals from the lower bracket. This is more likely to happen again as they claim to have a rematch against TNC Pro Team. Team Liquid might already checked TNC’s strategies and gameplay from their group stage replay and could utilize it in their game tomorrow.

Though, TNC might give Team Liquid a hard time in becoming the match-up victor. But, Team Liquid could swipe TNC out of the competion.

Virtus Pro vs Royal Never Give Up

RNG has been receiving a boost in confidence upon defeating Alliance in round 1 lower bracket. Plus the local fans cheering for them, they played amazingly well so far in this tournament.

Virtus Pro on the hand, has been having a mediocre situation here in The International. Thus, being in the upper bracket but has been punished by the PSG.LGD pushing them down in the lower bracket. This match-up is more likely to go smooth in favor of Virtus Pro despite of having a bad time in The International, but they could certainly dominate RNGU in tomorrow’s match-up.
