Mushi to take a break, Keen Gaming welcome a new player
In an announcement made on their Weibo page, Keen Gaming stated that Mushi decided to take a competitive break and that the team will move forward with Zhuang “xiaofu” Yongfu brought from Keen Gaming Luminous. Xiaofu will swap from offlane to position 4 support to fit the team while Jiang “天命” An moves to position 5 to replace Mushi.
“It’s with a heavy heart that I write this post, thinking that I will once again be leaving my beloved homeland, Malaysia. Thanks to my fans who supported me through thick and thin, I’ll be back even stronger than ever,” said Mushi on his Facebook page on September 5 when he was announced to have joined Keen Gaming. Known as one of the strongest SEA mid laners, Mushi transitioned to a support role earlier this year, during his short sting with Geek Fam. He also played in the carry role prior to TI9 when he joined the Tigers line-up featuring Danil “Dendi” Ishutin in the mid lane. Ahead of the TI9 qualifiers, Mushi took the coaching seat at Mineski and his work with the team had a great impact on their TI9 carry, Nikolay “Nikobaby” Nikolov.
“Mushi helped me a lot during the bootcamp, because I’m a new player in the tier one scene. He helped me with the in game practice, he prepared me for this tournament mentally, psychologically, etc. Honestly, he is such a great guy. I don’t know why people say that he is toxic, he is just amazing. Thanks to him we exceeded the analysts’ expectations for us. People thought we might go out in the groups, but we almost got to the upper bracket and that’s thanks to Mushi and all his fantastic job with us,” told us Nikobaby in Shanghai at TI9. He also expressed his gratitude for all the help he received from the Malaysian legend when he joined Alliance in the post TI9 shuffle. “I got the chance to play for Mineski at TI and I learned a lot, especially from Mushi,” said Ninobaby in his official statement upon joining his first big European organization.
Keen Gaming are currently playing in VKGAME Battle of Dawn, an online tournament to which they received a playoffs invite. Their playoffs semifinals are held against Invictus Gaming Vitality
