Virtus.pro bounce from tiebreakers to reach the Major qualifiers playoffs
Virtus.pro were close to repeat the previous Major and Minor qualifiers experience when they missed a spot into the Major qualifiers playoffs by two points. Fast forward to two months later, their revamped roster was put to a new kind of test when facing almost the same opponents in the region, but on a patch that brings a lot of new elements to the game.
At the end of the DreamLeague Season 13: The Leipzig Major / WePlay! Bukovel Minor qualifiers group stage, VP were tied with HellRaisers for the second spot in Group B, but crushed them in the bets-of-one battle. VP took the point victory in 21 minutes with a kill score of 20 to 1. In the same group B, Na’Vi dominated through the two days of matches and took first seed. From group A, Gambit Esports and Team Spirit will proceed to the Major qualifiers playoffs while Ivan “VANSKOR” Skorokhod’s newest stack, Gentlemen, managed to grab the third place in the groups for a spot in the Minor qualifiers.
CIS are granted only two tickets to the Leipzig Major. Therefore, the bottom two teams from each group got eliminated from contention. Perhaps the biggest surprise in this regard are Winstrike, who despite having a very promising roster and the former VP coach, Arsenij “ArsZeeqq” Usov, couldn’t adapt fast enough to all the changes brought by the Outlanders patch. While they will have to wait until February 2020 for the next round of DPC tournaments qualifiers, Virtus.pro, Na’Vi, Gambit and Team Spirit will fight the coming days, December 3-4, for the two tickets to the Leipzig Major. The two losing teams will drop to the Minor qualifiers, which are scheduled for December 5-6.
