FURIA Esports are the first team eliminated from the Bukovel Minor

The WePlay! Bukovel Minor had been in full swing all day and the final series of the day would see the first team eliminated from Group B as Nigma and FURIA Esports went head-to-head.

While the South American team of FURIA were considered heavily the underdogs, especially in such a tough group, Nigma were dismantled by Fighting PandaS earlier in the day – which put them in a very dangerous spot at the Minor. While it would still be an extremely tough series for FURIA, they had a chance to give themselves a brief respite in Bukovel.

As expected, Nigma were able to take the first game of the series but it was not for a lack of FURIA fighting their hearts out. The Brazilians held out for nearly 50 minutes but unfortunately the power of the tri-core Nigma lineup was far too much

for them to defend against. Nigma, while claiming the first game, still seemed extremely shaky and game two was on the way.

This time we witnessed the Nigma that we definitely have seen a few times since they returned to the Dota 2 after TI9. The Brazilians had no chance at all as they were torn apart by a Amer ‘Miracle’ Al-Barkawi Slark and a Aliwi ‘w33’ Omar Huskar – and even when there were opportunities for FURIA to shine, things just did not go right for them. Unfortunately for the South American squad, their Minor run will end here while Nigma will move on to fight for their tournament lives again tomorrow.

With that, day one at the WePlay! Bukovel Minor comes to a close and tomorrow the action will kick off again, starting with an elimination series between Ninjas in Pyjamas and Team Spirit.
