Concluded last week, the WePlay! Bukovel Minor was the second chance for Geek Fam to make it to a Dota Pro Circuit Major via Minor games, but while their performance overall was definitely better than what they’ve been showing at the beginning of the new season, they finished only on third place, missing the tickets to the Leipzig Major.

In the tournament aftermath, the Southeast Asian team announces another roster change. This time around they waved goodbye to their captain, Kim “DuBu” Doo-young who was on the roster since the very beginning of the season.

“We were blessed to have you as part of the fam and we will cherish the moments spent with us,” posted Geek Fam on Twitter.

Geek Fam current roster:

Marc “Raven” Fausto
Karl Jayme
Carlo “Kuku” Palad
Kenny “Xepher” Deo

Prior to the Bukovel Minor 2020, Geek Fam have also replaced Eric “Ryoya” Dong with Karl Jayme. That roster change occurred after the team had already qualified for the Minor, which got them an extra 20% DPC points penalty. Geek Fam went home from the Minor with 88 points instead of 110 for their third place finish.

Releasing DuBu now, will give Geek Fam about two weeks time to sign a new player before the third wave of Dota Pro Circuit qualifiers. The regional battle for a spot at the ESL One Los Angeles Major, or the Minor preceding it, starts next month, on the 9th of February.
