ana out of OG for rest of season

OG’s back to back The International Champion carry player Anathan “ana” Pham will extend his break for the entire season, the organization announced today, January 26.

OG are planning to return to the competitive play with the third round of Major and Minor qualifiers, on the 9th of February, but unlike last year when they were able to regroup in time for The International, this year they will fight for a third Aegis of Champions without the Io master.

In the previous season, Ana went for a break after winning TI8 in Shanghai and returned to his team only towards the end of March 2019, when OG qualified for the MDL Disneyland® Paris Major, the second to last Major of the season. From there on, OG found their footing and went on having an absolute blast at TI9, reaching the grand finals from the upper bracket. They defeated team liquid 3-1 to become the first team in the Dota 2 history to successfully defend the Aegis of Champions.

With just one week to go before the next round of qualifiers, where OG will have to start in the open brackets, Ana’s replacement is still unknown. After the conclusion of major in Leipzig, the Dota 2 community will be looking forward to the 28th of January, the premiere date of the TI9 True Sight documentary. On the following day, the TI champions will host an “OGNight” talk show, which could potentially reveal the new player joining them for the TI10 road.
