Can Iguodala help Miami Heat grab this year’s championship?
Andrei Tyler Iguodala or Iggy for short was the former NBA Finals Valuable Player (MVP) in 2015. He won three NBA championships on his 6 seasons with Golden State Warriors from 2013-2019 before he was traded to Memphis Grizzlies. He was also a member of the USA national team 2010 FIBA World Championships and 2012 Summer Olympics, winning the gold medal both times.
Lately, Iggy reasoned out that he will not play the remainders of the season if he will not be traded. Rumors that Iggy could join teams who have high chances of winning this year’s champion. Those teams are Los Angeles Lakers or Los Angeles Clippers. His teammate Dillon Brooks calls out Iggy saying, “A guy that’s on our team doesn’t want to be on our team. I can’t wait until we find a way to trade him so we can play him, and I can show him what really Memphis is about”. While his other teammates Ja Morant and De’Anthony Melton responded on twitter with emojis.

Yesterday a 3-Team trade deal has been signed, with it Iggy joining Miami Heat and top of that, getting a contract extension. Part of the trade was Forwards Jae Crowder and Solomon Hill (Memphis) to Miami Heat. Heat point guard Justise Winslow and guard Dion Waiters to Memphis while Heat forward James Johnson is going to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Center Gorgui.
Many fans commented on this trade that Iggy could help Miami Heat take another championship with his 3x champion playing experience. Some fans also said that he can be a great help to Butler in defending and thus making Butler focused more on offense.
What is your expectation on this Igoudala trade? Feel free to share some comments.
