Exactly two months after he joined Chaos Esports Club, Dmitry “DM” Dorokhin is leaving the North American region with a bottom four placement at the first Major of his career.

“Following the conclusion of his loan, Chaos EC will not be moving forward with DM,” said Greg Laird, Chaos Esports Club CEO in an official blog post on his organization website. DM joined Chaos on the 25th of November 2019, in the aftermath of DOTA Summit Minor, where the team played with another stand-in and placed second, losing the grand finals to Invictus Gaming. DM was brought onboard from HellRaisers, one of the two CIS teams to compete in the first Minor of the season. With DM in the offlane, Chaos took the first seed in the NA qualifiers for the Leipzig major, but once they made it to Germany for the LAN games, they struggled in one of the most competitive groups and placed last after losing to Vici Gaming and beastcoast. The playoffs best-of-one first round in the lower bracket went from bad to worse for Chaos. They got ran over by a heavy right click damage line-up from Team Aster. Following the result, DM tweeted:

The regional qualifiers for the next set of Major and Minor tournaments are just a week away, and with the Leipzig Major still undergoing, Chaos were quick to announce DM’s departure, perhaps to give both parties time to find new arrangements.

“He has worked hard throughout his entire time with us and we appreciate everything he brought, but due to other internal changes we will be making to the structure of the team we cannot continue with him as a player. Chaos EC wishes him the best of luck in the future, wherever that may be,” said Chaos’ CEO.
