CLOUD9 COMES OFF COOLDOWN AND REJOINS COMPETITIVE DOTA 2

Cloud9 is ecstatic to announce our return to competitive Dota 2! Having last competed at The International 2017, we are thrilled to once again have a presence in one of the biggest games in the world. Please join us in welcoming Cloud9’s Dota 2 roster! Joining us are:

  • Rolen skem Ong
  • Jia Hao vtFaded Cheng
  • Rasmus MISERY Filipsen
  • Francis FLee Lee
  • Johan pieliedie Åström

skem joins us from Neon Esports and has been on a roll lately, helping his team earn victories at God League, the Blue Dota Championships, and Asia DOTA2 Master League Season 1, all within the last four months. vtFaded most recently played for EHOME, coming away with the top spot at the Hainan Master Cup in November. FLee has been competing in Dota 2 since 2015 and recently helped Demon Slayers to a 2nd-place finish at DreamLeague Season 12.

Misery rejoins C9, having played for the team in 2015, and boasts a lengthy career full of incredible successes, including a 2nd-place finish at The International 2016 and a championship at The Shanghai Major 2016. pieliedie is also rejoining Cloud9, having helped the team to our best performance at The International, a 5th/6th place finish in 2014, as well as having played alongside Misery in their championship run at The Shanghai Major 2016.

These players have experience on the biggest stages and at the highest levels, and we can’t wait to see what the team puts together in 2020. Leading the team will be Team Manager Ysabel Noukky Müller, who has been with the Cloud9 organization since early 2018, managing the British Hurricane, Cloud9’s Overwatch Contenders team. At her side will be Kunal Patel, former manager of Demon Slayers who is currently bootcamping with the team.

“Dota 2 continues to be a phenomenon, consistently putting on some of the greatest moments esports has to offer, and we couldn’t be more excited to be a part of that once again. With Noukky at the helm, and faces both familiar and new, Cloud9 is ready to make waves.” — Gaylen Malone, Cloud9 Sr. General Manager

“Ever since departing the Dota 2 space in 2017 we’ve been keeping an eye on finding the best time to re-enter and I’m glad to say it’s finally arrived. These players have had success across the world and everyone here is looking forward to what they’ll do as a team.” — Jack Etienne, Cloud9 CEO & Owner

The team will be playing in the Southeast Asia region initially, but will be representing the North America region at future events. For more updates, make sure to follow us on TwitterInstagramFacebook, and Discord.
