Devin Booker will replace Damian Lillard in NBA All-star game and 3-point contest
Phoenix Suns’ guard Devin Booker will replace the injured Damian Lillard in this weekend’s NBA All-Star Game and 3-point contest. Damian Lillard suffered a right groin strain in late 4th quarter against Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night. Damian Lillard said after the game that he would not compete in either the 3-point contest or All-star game. Damian Lillard also said that he would like to see a deserving player like Devin Booker in his interview after the game. Booker was one of the notable player who was snubbed in all-star game in last month announcement.

Devin Booker earned his first NBA All-star selection in his fifth season. The former Kentucky star was becoming the Sun’s first all-star since Steve Nash in the 2011-2012 season. Booker’s average is 26.4 points (10th in NBA), 6.3 assists and 4.2 rebounds while posting career highs in field goal percentage 49.6 and free throw percentage 92.0. The first timer all-star will also compete for his fourth time 3-point contest (2016, 2018, 2019), winning the 3-point contest title in 2018 and hold the record for most points in any round and final round (28 points), he scored 28 points in the finals (2018) to win the title.
