Kuro and Co. bids farewell of Team liquid

The five Dota 2 players of Team Liquid left the organization at their own request. In the goodbye message released today, Victor “Nazgul” Goossens, Team Liquid’s CEO, let the fans know that it was the players’ desire to start the new season under a player-owned team.

Extract from Victor “Nazgul” Goossens official statement:

“When Kuroky told me about their plans in the wake of TI9, I couldn’t help but think about my own journey from professional player to team owner. After four years under the Team Liquid organization, our Dota team has decided to pursue this new dream: To build a team of their own. While it fills me with great sadness to part ways with the best Dota roster we ever could have dreamed of, I am proud of the unforgettable years we have spent together, which include innumerable championships, records, and memories.”

While Kuro and co. will enter this season a new chapter in their life, Team Liquid will do the same as the organization is on the hunt for a new team. “We are on the lookout for individuals or teams who can continue the winning legacy that the five boys leave behind, and we will let you know as soon as we have an update,” states Victor Goossens at the end of the press release.

Under the Team Liquid Banner, Kuro “KuroKy Takhasomi, Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi, Maroun “GH” Merhej and Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov claimed the most wanted Dota 2 trophy in 2017 at TI7. Ahead of TI9 the team made its first roster change in nearly three years and welcomed aboard Aliwi “w33” Omar, with whom they reached placed second in Shanghai, China this August. Team Liquid lost the TI9 grand finals 1-3 to OG.

None of the former Team Liquid players revealed just yet the new project on which they will be on, nor if the TI9 line-up will remain the same.
