****DISCLAIMER: SOUTH.GG OUTTAKES IS A SERIES WHERE EMPLOYEES WITHIN SOUTH.GG STATE THEIR OPINIONS ON ESPORTS-RELATED MATTERS. THESE OPINIONS ARE SEPARATE FROM THE COMPANY AND THEREFORE SHALL NOT REPRESENT THE COMPANY'S VIEWS AS A WHOLE.****   We know you’re feeling either one of these two:  probably disappointed, probably indifferent. The fact is, most of us esports fans are, especially those who’ve bought tickets to Dota 2’s most prestigious and grandest event of the year.   After being delayed for over a year, fans all over the world were more than excited when Valve announced that TI10 or The International 10 would be a LAN event with a live audience. You could almost hear the collective hurrahs of Dota 2 esports fans,...

From the DPC tournaments to Majors, all the official Valve tournaments lead to one road: The International 10 in Bucharest, Romania. When TI is brought up as a topic, one team rings loudly in the people’s subconscious: OG. The team has won not one, but two back-to-back The International championships with the solid lineup of N0tail, Topson, Ceb, Jerax, and Ana. This mighty 5-man bulldozing machine pummeled through each and every obstacle out of the way and led themselves straight to the Aegis of the Immortal. But,...

Teams to watch out for in TI10

The Internationals 2021 is fast approaching, and the list of teams to watch out for is growing. The team lineup for this year’s The Internationals is definitely something that we anticipate could give us a good run for our time watching the streams and staying late up at night to witness intense 5v5 matches in the highest level of professional Dota 2.   We’ve compiled a list of teams that would either try to prove themselves in the highest level of the pro scene, who we think would dominate the tournament and those who have some tricks up their sleeves.   PSG.LGD  (Image from WePlay) Showing their prowess as currently one of the most powerful and basically unbeatable Chinese Dota...

South.gg Outtakes: What Happened to #BringBrentoBerlin?

****DISCLAIMER: SOUTH.GG OUTTAKES IS A SERIES WHERE EMPLOYEES WITHIN SOUTH.GG STATE THEIR OPINIONS ON ESPORTS-RELATED MATTERS. THESE OPINIONS ARE SEPARATE FROM THE COMPANY AND THEREFORE SHALL NOT REPRESENT THE COMPANY'S VIEWS AS A WHOLE.****   You’ve probably heard all about it now, but in case you haven’t, Bren Esports’ Valorant roster will not be coming to Berlin despite their VCT SEA Challengers win. The main reason that barred the Filipino Valorant team from acquiring travel visas to Germany was due to changing COVID-19 developments.    The Philippines has experienced another spike in COVID-19 cases especially with the onset of the delta variant, despite careful and secure measures to control the outbreak. This is probably one reason why Bren Esports’ players...

Here is a quick recap of the games that the boys over at Southside Tambayan covered in their stream last night.   TEAM NIGMA VS. EVIL GENIUSES (0-2) Abed and the gang make quick work of Team Nigma as they completely obliterate the EU team in their Best of 3 series. It's day 3 of the playoffs as we finish some Upper Bracket matches for the playoffs today. Here is a recap of the games we've covered over at Southside Tambayan!   TEAM SPIRIT VS. VICI GAMING (0-2) Team Spirit had a strong lead in the early game, but Old Eleven's successful Dooms on Team Spirit effectively makes every fight a guaranteed 4v5, helping VG take the lead and eventually force Team Spirit to call GG, which they should have called earlier in game 2 as VG once again sweep-kicks Team Spirit, causing the latter to lose the series 2-nil in favor of Vici Gaming.   TNC PREDATOR VS EVIL GENIUSES (1-2) Despite some "small talk" done during the early game...

TNC PREDATOR (1-2) Team Aster charge forward and stomp TNC Predator 27-14 as they take game 1. Team Aster made sure to cancel out Bok's picks and shrink his available pool of heroes, making TNC's off-lane game a little on the weak side. TNC Predator showed their heart and proved they do not succumb to external pressures as they overwhelm Team Aster after converting Armel's Aegis steal to a full wipe of Team Aster and eventually rushing to the enemy's...

TNC PREDATOR (2-0) TNC Predator were completely wiped out by PSG.LGD with their hyper-sustain draft and objectives-prioritizing heroes, and TNC could just not do anything to bounce back after being pummeled to the ground like that. Game 2 was not a different story, as PSG.LGD were once against stomped 41-27 with PSG.LGD charging in with a Position 1 Axe.   PSG.LGD VS. EVIL GENIUSES (2-0) Right after...
