Qualified Players for 30th SEA Games PH Esports Training Pool Finalized

The final list of esports athletes representing the Philippines in the upcoming 30th SEA Games is one step closer towards its completion after the qualifiers for Dota 2, Starcraft II, Hearthstone, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Arena of Valor, and Tekken 7 came to an end last weekend.

40 promising Filipino athletes will be joining the previously announced direct invitees for the training pool of Sibol, the country’s national esports team. They will be evaluated, based on the mastery of their respective esports titles and compatibility with the rest of the team, by the assigned managers and coaches for each medal game, before choosing the Philippines’ official esports representatives.

Up next for these esports athletes is the Sibol National Pool Combine, which aims to feature the talents of the training pool participants live at the Activity Center of Ayala Malls Circuit Makati from August 29 to 31, 2019. Alternatively, the Combine will also be livestreamed on Sibol’s official Facebook page

In charge of creating and managing Sibol will be the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Esports Union (PSEU), a group under the Philippine Olympic Committee. PSEU is the union of the Esports National Association of the Philippines (ESNAP) and the National Electronic Sports Federation of the Philippines (NESFP). The group is determined to make Sibol a representation of the country’s best gamers and athletes aimed towards one goal: SEA Games gold.

Aside from Sibol, PSEU is also in charge of mounting the esports competition in the 30th SEA Games.
