ESL One Los Angeles groups and opening matches announced

ESL One Los Angeles 2020 is almost here, and the hype is getting on as the organizers have announced the groups and opening matches earlier today, March 11.

The groups will be as followed:

Group A

  • Natus Vincere
  • Royal Never Give Up
  • Team Secret
  • Thunder Predator

Opening Matches:

Team Secret vs Thunder Predator

Natus Vincere vs Royal Never Give Up

This group is interesting with Team Secret in the mix, a favorite team that might win the Major. It will be a toss-up on who will be second in this group as Natus Vincere showed interesting strategies during the CIS Closed Qualifiers and RNG showing promise by losing only one map during the China Closed Qualifiers. Thunder Predator will have to try to pull an upset in this group being an underdog of this group, plus facing Team Secret in their opening match..

Group B

  • Evil Geniuses
  • Chaos Esports Club
  • OG
  • Geek Fam

Opening Matches:

Evil Geniuses vs OG

Chaos Esports Club vs Geek Fam

The matches in this group will be very competitive as it will feature two massive teams, Evil Geniuses and OG. This will be OG’s first major for this DPC Season, on top with their new line-up. Both teams will face each other in the opening match. This will also be the first major of Geek Fam’s roster and will be very exciting as their playstyle will be tested by Chaos Esports in the opening match.

Group C

  • Invictus Gaming
  • Ninjas in Pyjamas
  • EHOME
  • Fnatic

Opening Matches:

Invictus Gaming vs Ninjas in Pyjamas

Fnatic vs EHOME

Group C will be highlighted by two Chinese teams, EHOME and IG, joined by a ppd-led NiP with Fnatic that is very hungry to win after a few setbacks in previous majors. Moreover, Fnatic and Invictus Gaming have shown good Dota playstyles that suite their lineup but we all know that any ppd-led team should not be counted off, not to mention with xiao8 as EHOME’s coach.

Group D

  • beastcoast
  • Team Adroit
  • Team Aster
  • Virtus.Pro

Opening Matches:

beastcoast vs Virtus.Pro

Team Aster vs Team Adroit

This group is difficult to analyze after Team Aster’s impressive run in the minor but beastcoast has shown that they can play with the best team, given that they are in their best form. Virtus.Pro will look at this tournament as their best chance to go back as a high-class Dota 2 team. Adroit will have to play in this tournament with a stand-in as their captain, Boomy, failed to secure a US visa.

The ESL One Los Angeles 2020 will kick-off on Sunday, March 15. This major will be exciting and action-packed that will entertain all the fans in the world. The teams in this tournament are sure to bring their A-game as this major features a prize pool of $1,000,000 and 15,000 DPC points.
