Introducing AMD Summer League, an online Dota 2 tournament for everyone!
by Zena V. Magto
In partnership with multinational company AMD, South.gg presents “AMD Summer League,” a free-for-all online Dota 2 tournament.
The league is the second online tournament hosted by South.gg, after the success of “Lockdown Online Tournament” held during the later part of March 2020.
The AMD Summer League features a prize pool of P50,000.
“The goal of South.gg has always been to develop a healthy eSports scene that is community-centered. With the support of AMD, we are able to continue growing that community,” said Bien Castañares, head of South.gg.
Weekly Qualifiers
Four weekly qualifiers will be held for the Visayas, Mindanao, Luzon and mixed-region/multinational teams. Winners from each region will receive a cut from the prize pool and a slot to the main event. The qualifiers are a series of BO1 single-elimination matches, with BO3 semifinal matches and a BO5 final.
There will be 16 slots available for interested teams per region. Registration is free of charge and open for all. This also means that a total of 64 teams will be competing for slots in the main event.
Main Event
Teams making it through the weekly qualifiers will face four invited teams in a BO3 double-elimination bracket with a BO5 grand finale.
