Neon Esports press on to Lockdown grand finals

by Zena V. Magto

Neon Esports will press on to the grand finals tomorrow, April 3, after defeating team Ground Zero, 2-1 during the playoffs round of the Lockdown Online Tournament.

It’s no mystery that Neon Esports will dominate in this round since they are an established esports team. However, Ground Zero did not disappoint as they were putting up an impressive performance.

Neon Esports won round 1 of the match with a very effective assault strategy. Ground Zero retaliated in the middle phase but was eventually defeated in the later team fights.

Ground Zero was able to own round 2 of the tournament after a hard-fought team fight. Both teams were basically trading kills during the middle phase. A few mispositions from Neon Esports gave Ground Zero the window to win the match.

The final round of the match had to be given to Neon Esports. Ground Zero did not stand a chance against Neon Esports’ unity during team fights.

The playoffs round of the tournament uses the bo3 single-elimination format.
