Neon Esports rallies against Reech Apex for Lockdown tourney title
by Zena V. Magto
Neon Esports came out victorious after a tight five-battle series of the grand finale of the first Lockdown Online Tournament. It was an amazing clutch performance of the team after Reech Apex impressively claimed the first two rounds of the series.
Neon Esports made their comeback in round 3 after Reech Apex broke their position, leaving them open. Reech Apex became too focused on team fights that they missed shutting down Neon Esports’ Terrorblade in the early phase.
However, Neon Esports was not completely safe yet as Reech Apex only needed one more win to end the tourney.
On round 4, Reech Apex was close in for the win by playing aggressively. They were dominating the middle lane.
A brawl in the Roshan pit ensued as both teams fight over the Aegis of the Immortal. Reech Apex won the team fight, but Neon Esports was certainly not willing to let their opponent hold the Roshan drop. Neon Esports quickly recovered from the setback and stole the Aegis, gaining the advantage of the team fights that followed.
Reech Apex gave in to Neon Esports on round 4 and proceeded to the final deciding match.
Twenty-eight minutes in round 5, it looked like Reech Apex was getting the upper hand again after temporarily stalling two of the enemy core heroes, but Neon Esports once again held the game after successfully stealing the Aegis. It left Reech Apex helpless in the final moment of the battle.
Although Neon Esports is already known to be a well-established team, players of Reech Apex did not disappoint as they proved to be quite a challenge.
Neon Esports received P25,000 top prize, while 1st runner up Reech Apex won P7,500.
Third and fourth runner ups, team Ground Zero and team Arturito received P2,500 digital credits each sponsored by 2ez.bet.
Additionally, P12,500 worth of digital credits also sponsored by 2ez.bet will be given to 25 winners who participated in the special events in line with the Lockdown tourney.
