Ground Zero claims Mindanao Leg of AMD Summer League

by Zena V. Magto

Ground Zero redeem themselves from the previous tournament and will be representing the Mindanao region on the main event of the AMD Summer League.

Yesterday’s weekly final of the AMD Summer League was a bo5 match between Ground Zero and Wires and Lines (WnL).

Ground Zero started aggressively during the first two games. While WnL showed resilience in fending off their opponents, Ground Zero’s map control proved to be valuable.

However, WnL started to change the tide at game 3, after Ground Zero had a blackout. A tilted Ground Zero gave games 3 and 4 to WnL. A deciding match ensued.

WnL was forced to play defensive after Ground Zero played aggressively yet again. Ground Zero takes advantage on their good map rotation, which makes it easier for them to bar WnL of their farm,

Ground Zero described their match as a “tough” one, especially after a blackout stalled game 3, which Wires and Line immediately took advantage of.

On a positive note, Wires and Lines showed that they were a good sport after giving their pause time for Ground Zero.

To prepare for the main event, Carlo “Sena-“ Trillo of Ground Zero said that they will have to “grind, scrim, then study replays or watch live streams.”

Below is the full roster of Ground Zero:

  • Position 1 – Bryan Joseph “uzumy” Domagtoy
  • Position 2 – Eljohn “Akashi” Andales
  • Position 3 – Jayquem “HolyQ” Gumalan
  • Position 4 – Marcus Alexander “Lis神” Tinio [Captain]
  • Position 5 – Carlo “Sena-“ Trillo
