FB stream cut short: UCHIHA Clan and Harlie is Black wins round 1

by Zena V. Magto Two matches were mysteriously unavailable for public viewing yesterday, as organizers of the Lockdown Online Tournament cited Facebook connectivity issues as the root of the problem. The two matches audiences weren't able to see were matches of the UCHIHA CLan vs. Game Zone, and Harlie is Black vs. RyzenGaming. The stream came back at around 6:00 PM, in time for the match between Colourz vs. Team Chili Garlic. As checked on Chibiby's Facebook page, where organizers are streaming the Bisaya cast for the tournament, the stream for the first two matches mysteriously disappeared. However, the battle still continued without the live stream. UCHIHA Clan defeated Game Zone with a final score of 35-11. UCHIHA Clan's draft...

Team Daddy moves forward to round 2

by Zena V. Magto Perhaps the battle was already decided at the beginning of the match. PaF was no match to Team Daddy's well-balanced draft of heroes. Six minutes in, and Team Daddy already toppled down PaF's tier 1 top tower. PaF struggled to keep the game afloat, which is worsened by their seemingly disconnected team play. It is now getting more difficult for PaF to farm as Team Daddy get more map advantage. Although PaF was able to gank on Team Daddy's Troll and Void Spirit, PaF still lost four of their heroes during the team fight. Team Daddy eventually pushed PaF to their base at the 19th minute. They could not even more from the base as Team...

In a hurry? Neon Esports drowns Titans Underground Dads

by Zena V. Magto Anyone watching the game can probably say this. Neon Esports is a pro team and they are here to prove that. The match only lasted for a good 16 minutes. Early on, Neon Esports already won all lanes, gravely pushing Titans Underground Dads. Way too early. They totally crushed the laning phase. The team did not end there. After winning all lanes, they forced Titans Underground Dads into one-sided team fights. The Dads just cannot win in said team fights. Titans Underground Dads just did not level with Neon Esport's experience, skill and team coordination. The GG was called very early, but only one Dad remained with very little hopes of surviving. Anyway, this will still...

YAWA advances to second round, ends KTL’s Tourney

by Zena V. Magto Another team emerged victorious as Team YAWA! advances to the second round. YAWA  faces off against Team KTL in a single-elimination format and secures a victory. The match started slow, as both teams were earning and farming for items. The clash started later when YAWA's Morphling equips Ethereal Blade, which enabled the hero to use its adaptive skill. It led the team to higher win rates. KTL eventually gives in at the 29th minute, but not without putting up a good fight. They defend their ancient up until the last minute of the game. However, KTL was already losing because heir net worth is 10k behind. It was fairly an easy fight for YAWA.  Ryou "R?"...

Tiktokers rule amidst Lockdown tourney, wins first match

by Zena V. Magto It looks like Tiktok really has taken over the pandemic in the Philippines, as the team Tiktoker's Crew gets a head start over Terra PH. Terra PH initially leads the game, 8-6 but Tiktoker's Crew's Broodmother constant pressure in the midlane allowed them to break Terra PH's ranks and got them scrambling all over the map. Tiktoker's Crew brought down Terra PH's midlane tier 1 tower and was slowly taking the lead. By this time, the net value of Tiktoker's Crew was leading. Fourteen minutes in, and the match took a turn in favor of Tiktoker's Crew. Their strategy of grouping up for kills proved to be an effective plan, considering their line-up. On the 16th...

Match delayed: Team Dendingot and Meister faces technical issues on their first day

by Zena V. Magto Team Dendingot was able to secure a win but not before technical issues walked up to their match. The match was supposed to start at 1:00 PM, but it was delayed for almost an hour due to connectivity issues. One of the players from Team Dendingot got disconnected right after picking heroes and was forced to re-lobby. All Pick was used instead of Captain's Mode, with players choosing the same heroes. Roughly 10 minutes after re-lobbying, Meister was not able to reconnect immediately. Marshalls of the match raised a 10-minute deadline for meisters to reconnect, or else Team Dendingot wins by default. Fortunately, the Meisters made it, and the match continued. However, because of the delay,...

PH Rejects ‘rejects’ Benz and Friends

by Zena V. Magto The Lockdown Online Tournament has just started, and things are already looking good for PH Rejects, with pro player Armel 'armel" Tabios rampaging all over the map. PH Rejects was technically pinning newbie team Benz and Friends to the edge just a few minutes in the game.  Carlo "BDz" Manalo drew first blood, using Dark Willow 2 minutes in. Benz and Friends never had a chance to roam the map as the radiant side played by PH Rejects was aggressive. The team already destroyed all tier 1 towers on the dire side in under 16 minutes. Twenty-five minutes in, and the GG was called. It was hopeless for Benz and Friends as they were practically trapped...
